About YA's Character
YA gives out an impression that she's rude and self-isolating but she is fragile and vulnerable and that's why she keeps to herself but she loves everyone. She loves the kites because they are playful and touch the sun. When she plays with kites almost always people come and play with her. When the strings get tangled there's always someone who comes and helps in untangling them. YA discovers that she also needs people around because of everything that is going on. We can lend our kites to others to play with and feel validated and loved. This is a very simple act that brings warmth and smiles to the community, which is essential for people who are in need of services that are as tiny as a kite floating in the vastness of the skies, yet are limitless in their potential to achieve big dreams and real change in people's lives.
If you can imagine it from above, kites are very little and the sky is vast. Yet if you fix your gaze on the kite you will see its movement and with it something inside you starts to move. It stirs you up, this carefree feeling that there is someone there flying this kite, feeling light and joyful. You get to share this feeling of lightness and joy as long as your gaze is fixed and the kite is floating. What if, you were to share this experience with those close to you? Would you assist YA in flying her kites to those around you?
